The language of youth is fluidity. The language of adult is rigidity. When parents can learn how to be flexible with their teens, they will find that teens can connect with them very easily.
Novelty always sticks well
When it happens once, it is a novelty; when it happens again, it is a reminder; anything comes after that is a nag. When the novelty is positive, it sticks. When it is negative, it is repulsive.
